And an outing to the zoo and river safari would not be complete fun without making it a play date all rolled into one!
So where we are - for a full day of fun, fun, fun!
The weather has been really kind to us - cloudy with slight sunlight - all the more to head for the wate rplay area first! The kids went hyper once they saw the water playground. lol
These are fun shots - they did several jumps but usually all at different pace/timing! hahaha... but it was good fun!
KFC for lunch - that's the nearest available food outlet and the kids can't walk too far any longer after depleting all their energy at the water play area! Funny Faces!!! Such PRETTY GIRLS I bring along with me, right? LOL
Going on a safari ride pretty soon... ooops, but it will be "on foot"! haha
Get ready your map and plan your best routing, kiddos!
It drizzled and it rained... so we were kind caught at the "Wild Cat" area while waiting for the rain to stop. Leg rest!
Moving on to see the primates
And a short sugar-rush break of lollies! How can we ever NOT stop for that! :D
And a super pouty kiss awaits me... argh... not really; i don't wanna get all sticky, darling! :p
Next up is the newly opened River Safari - we were told only 1/3 of the entire area is open for now; the rest are still work in progress.
At the entrance - prepping the kids of what's ok and what's not when we're inside...
Admiring the fishes at different eye-levels/heights... and enjoying the variety of fishes from different parts of the world.
And finally to one of the highlights of today's visit - to see the Pandas. We had to view a video of the pandas' journey from China to Singapore, their orientation and finally, the move to their new home at River Safari.
I find this cute too - the Red Panda.
We are not so lucky coz today, we only get to see Kai Kai, the male panda. Jia Jia, apparently was not feeling well and is resting inside... oh well... better to see one than none at all.
Kai Kai was rather restless - moved up and down several times - not sure if he too, prefer to go into hiding than being an exhibit... or he's trying to find a place to pee? hee hee hee...
Some interesting story about the pandas - the kids had some fun and squabbles here - who's suppose to turn the blocks and who's suppose to stand where, etc... argh...
Little Missy and her still slightly chubby cheeks... and Kai Kai so far away... hahahhaa...
My lovelies and the restless Kai Kai... poor thing... but at least, you save me the $$ to fly all the way to China to visit your family/relatives! 10 years is not that long... so hopefully you'll enjoy your PR here and bear some new cubs for Spore. Hahaha...
Merchandize, merchandize, merchandize ... typically the best way to make extra moolah for the provider to cover cost! hahahahaa...But having a customer like me is tough luck coz I'm not that kind of tourist/consumer that buys in to all these. I always tell my kids "Touch Only" but don't need to buy - there are more than enough stuff toys at home, dearies!
Then we headed to the Panda cafe for a quick break - costly (and no so tasty) food and drinks, as usual. But the kids liked it... pay for a little bit of happiness! hahaha...
One our way back to the main entrance, we passed by this little enclosure of the golden monkeys. Very interesting and there are like hordes of them there - and they are not at all intimidated by people. Lil Boy enjoyed it most - trying his best to catch and chase them around.
Another great attraction - almost forgotten about this - is the gigantic aquarium where they house a big family of giant manatees, or seacow (Dugong). This one is really amazing - we spent quite some time here just enjoying the way they swim and feed (it was just their feeding time then) on the bunch of green vegetables floating on top. Simply amazing!
We'll be back again one day soon.
