spend time with the kids and get a reward

the title sounded like 'forced-parenting'... where the parent(s) forced themselves to spend time with rowdy screaming creatures children of their own (of course!) during the weekends.

it's called family bonding... during family time... on a weekend where parent(s) are off from work. but i know deep down inside a lot of parent(s) wished that they can just lie in bed and sleep till the cow comes home. are you nodding your head now? you are, aren't you? :)

anyway... back to family bonding.

while the other half went out to enjoy throwing his big balls into the lane, i was happily stuck at home spending time with the kids. firstly, we watched okto cartoons during breakfast, educational ones of course... lazytown and Caillou are educational programs, rite?

then after the kids had their bath, we settled down for some more brain-cells damaging puzzles fixing. chloe improved both in quantity and time solving those 12 and 20 pieces puzzles, some of which she did for the first time. i was quite amazed at the speed and also she no longer whines or throw her tantrum when she hits a puzzle-block. instead, she will opt to try other pieces instead.

gaby, on the other hand, helped by messing up all the other puzzle pieces (so that chloe can complete them later on), throwing them onto the floor (so that mommy can exercise while picking them up from under the sofa or table...argh!) and at times, chews on the puzzle pieces before scooting off to do other toys damage.

chloe did about 9 puzzles and then announed to me : "i m tired. i want zud zud (pacy). i want to sleep. where pillow?"

yeah... i think 9 puzzles were quite brain-draining for a 'almost' 3 year old. heck, i can't even complete a soduku level 2 over the entire afternoon! but it was a good thing - the puzzles solving bonding activity... coz chloe ended up sleeping for a solid 2.5hrs thereafter.

afternoon was bonding session with dad - the kids were left to their own device; either playing with their toys, doodling with crayons, throwing balls/toys/books on the floor and fighting with each other over toys - all under their dad's supervision - from behind his newspapers, no less.

after such a tiring day bonding, we all got our reward - mommy didnt have to cook and the kids get to enjoy kiddy rides after eating western junk food at restaurant, instead of fastfood outlet.

oh well... happy kids makes happy parents, junk food or not!

french fries ROCKS!
