mon cherie's definitely a baby no more... and she's one assertive toddler in the making!
vital stats update:
wt - 9.2kg (still consider a petite little piggy - with a super slim tummy!)
ht - 75cm
some new milestones:
* new taste - fruits (guava, watermelon, pessimon)
* mobility - more walking at home with and without holding on to objects. at times can she she's learning to 'run' by rushing her pace. better at picking up objects from standing to squating position. and still trying hard to stand from crawl/sit position though.
* other physical adeptability - via imitation of actions or instructions:
a) put both palms together and do the 'bai-bai' (praying) hand gestures. (obviously learnt at the nanny's *roll-eyes* and that gesture have superceded the 'gongxi gongxi' gesture! need to train her to do the 'gongxi gongxi' again FAST!)
b) understands and imitates giving 'flying kisses' but using her fingers instead of her palm.
c) able to wave 'bye-bye' (finally!) when requested but only when she's in a good mood.
d) able to do the 'twinkle' gesture when she hears the nursery rhyme "twinkle twinkle little star".
e) able to iminate 'snapping' of her fingers by rubbing her thumb and forefinger.
f) have started to teach her to self-feed using her spoon - obviously need a LOT of practice for this. :)
g) favourite games - "peek-a-boo" and continuously pressing the buttons on the musical toy/walker/stride and shake her butt, head or do the 'twinkle twinkle' hand gestures.
h) will 'nod' her head continuously when she agrees with what we say. Eg. "is the food nice?", "do you want more?", etc.
* vocal development - contiue to blabbers and talk gibberish and at times they do sound like she's grumbling, esp. after we scolded her for doing something she was not suppose to do. other times when she's more vocal, she will use her soft 'baby voice' to imitate having a conversation with us (which is super-cute!!!)
* language skill - no new words but more on understanding / identify with objects by pointing or nodding her head in unison. objects include : shoe, bus, star/lightbulbs/milk(bottle), pacifier, dog, cat, bird, book.
* character building - or rather, we're trying to curb her temper which at times, seems to be very out of control. she wails/cries/screams if things do NOT go her way - and even attempts to 'slap' the person carrying her when she is upset about things not going HER way. even daddy thinks she's behaving like a spoilt brat! grrr....
since she is at the stage of self-exploring her identity as an individual (no longer a part of mommy) via lots of trials and errors, we'll just have to give her time to learn and understand do's and dont's and rules of the adult world.
and we (mostly mommy lah) pray that during her journey of self-discovery and exploration of our world, we will continue to be ever-forgiving (when she starts to be stubborn & "assertive") and filled with lots of patience in guiding her along the correct path.
