how do i wean her off...

the pacifier, that is.

it's really a love / hate relationship i have with her 'zud-zud', especially now that mon cherie is growing into a toddler. surely i do not want her to rely too much on the pacifier; but at the same time i how how much comfort it gives her (and us!) at times when such situations require her to be less vocal / more disciplined / independent.

here's a classic example of my dilemma.
venue: home
case in hand: mommy needs to get her chores done while mon cherie need to be independent to play on her own

chloe: "mommy, mommy, mommy... where's my zud-zud?"
mommy: "chloe is big girl now, don't need to use the zud-zud, ok?"

chloe: "NOOOoooooo.... I WANT MY ZUD-ZUD! I WANT MY ZUD-ZUD! WAAA......"
mommy: "................." (almost went deaf by her screams/wails but slowly getting her hearing back...)

no choice... had to gave in to her demands before the neighbour knock on the front door to check if mon cherie was being strangled/abused! (GAH!!!)

chloe: "... ohhh.... my zud-zud...."

chloe: "oh zud-zud...i miss you... i miss you... i miss you...."
zud.zud.zud.zud...

chloe: "now i can concentrate on playing on my own..."

chloe: "teehee...with zud-zud, i happy, mommy happy too, right?"
mommy: "............ " (=_=)
