come, read to me

i was at the library last thursday and decided to check out the children's section again. this time round, i went a little overboard and borrowed 12 boardbooks for chloe! (you can borrow up to 8 books per card now, but for a limited period only)

i was browsing through the messy shelves and tiny little table-tops and found quite a few interesting story books for infant/toddlers. how glad i was to find a few Sandra Boynton board books. and another author whom i like is emma thomson; a US author/artist who created a series of stories on 'felicity's wishes' and 'isabella's toybox'. she does really great print and you can find them here.

here's mon cherie with one of emma thomson's boardbooks on colors.

chloe: "mommy, pink heart... just like my pink romper!"

this is the cover of the book... don't you just love the artwork... so sweet!

and let me share with you a snippet from Kate Toms' version from her book below:

"twinkle, twinkle, little star,
how i wonder what you are,
you shine above the world so high,
like a lightbulb in the sky.
i'd like to catch you in my net...
and keep you as a special pet!

twinkle, twinkle, little star,
how i wonder what you are,

when snuggled up in bed at night,
cozy, warm, and tucked up tight,
i dream that i can fly a rocket,
and gather starudust in my pocket."
